When I say a couple is madly in love, I really mean it. Love is about caring for each other, always thinking and wishing the best for your significant other, and just about all the small things that count, and when you add all of these small things up, your love becomes stronger and more meaningful. Though I only spent a couple hours getting to know Amanda and Matt during their engagement session, it was quite obvious that Matt was such a gentleman and always looking out for Amanda and offering to help carry her bag and things like that. It just makes my heart melt seeing couples that truly care for one another.
Matt is a second-year dental student at Boston University. Amanda conveniently just moved to Boston from Michigan for her engineering job with GE Healthcare, which allows them to happily live under the same roof. Learn more about Amanda and Matt’s engagement story at the end of this post :)
Amanda, you looked A-mazing in this blue scarf.
Doesn’t she have the prettiest blue eyes!
Did I mention I loved her hat?
From the couple:
“Amanda and I met back in 2009 when we were both living out in Milwaukee, WI. We both moved there after graduating college (Amanda went to University of Michigan and I went to Duke). One night we both decided to attend a young professional’s work event that happened to be an etiquette dinner / networking event with managers. I happened to sit next to Amanda and found out we were members at the same gym in Milwaukee. We ended up swimming and running together a lot and realized we share a lot in common.
When I decided I wanted to marry Amanda, I had to find a way to ask her parents since they were in MI and I was already in Boston for school. So I flew out there during winter finals to ask for their daughter’s hand in marriage! Since Amanda was still in Milwaukee at the time for her job, I had to fly out there with the ring. On a Saturday morning in December 2010, we went out to brunch, then I took her for a walk on our favorite wooded path on Lake Michigan. That’s where I proposed! And she said yes!“
