There’s something special about Melissa and Jan, they’re caring, loving, and calm. I had such a good time photographing them. Melissa contacted me about photography coverage for their July wedding back in January of 2012. We chatted a bit on Google+ hangout and didn’t get to meet in person until their engagement session at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) since they live out of town. I was so glad I was able to suggest locations for their engagement session. We had brainstormed a bit; Melissa said “we like film, trying new restaurants/food, art, exploring NYC and reading. Also, Jan is obsessed with soccer.” The first thing that came to my mind was the ICA primarily because they like film and art. I took a video production class there in high school and I instantly felt in love with that place. Plus, Melissa and Jan had visited there before and they liked it. They also work at an art museum so they were fond of the idea of doing their engagement session at the ICA. Jan also used to be a filmmaker so this was the perfect location for them.
We wouldn’t have found this place if we hadn’t walked around and explore the place a bit. I’m really glad we did.
Much love you two. I can’t wait for your wedding in July!!!
