There are so many things about Jan and Justin’s Newport engagement session that I love – the location, the couple, the outfit, and the lighting. They were such a fun and outgoing couple, I couldn’t have had a better time photographing them. Jan and Justin were bartender and waitress at the same place. I remember Jan telling me how she had a crush on Justin and once they introduced themselves to each other in the kitchen, they started hitting it off, and just like that, their love story began. As of today, they’ve been together for 8 years. Justin popped the question in February and guess what, SHE SAID YES!!! I couldn’t be happier and more excited to document their wedding day next year.
We photographed their engagement session in Newport, Rhode Island. It was incredibly beautiful. I always thought I would live in Boston until someone or something changes my mind, and it did. We hung out on the beach (there were surfers, how many of those do you see in Boston?), a beautiful grassy field, and on a dock with the sunset as our backdrop. It was magical. I just feel incredibly honored they chose me to document such a special day of their lives.
