To say Beth and Matt’s Lyman Estate wedding was gorgeous was an understatement. The entire day was flawless. Beth and the girls started off getting ready at the Embassy Suites, which was just a few minutes away from Lyman Estate; it definitely saved a ton of time traveling. The guys got ready at Lyman Estate. Beth’s dad put together a photo booth, which was a huge hit at the reception. We did a lot of bridal portraits on top of the small hill at Lyman Estate, where the light turned out to be super amazing and luckily, all the girls wore flats instead of heels so they were able to get to the top of the hill without any trouble. You’ll see how stunning they all look in the photos below.
When I first met Beth at Matt, I was so touched by their love story and I couldn’t help but be smitten by their love that’s filled with adventures and laughter. I would have described it better; here’s a snippet from their wedding website:
“It’s strange to think about, but we really wouldn’t have met if it wasn’t for a site called OKCupid. We share a lot of interests, but a computer guy in Cambridge might never run into a PR lady in Allston. Our modern romance began on Valentine’s Day when Matt noticed a pretty lady named Beth that had a shared love of a particular cult TV classic (Buffy). We traded notes for quite a while until Beth suggested we finally meet up.
While Matt was waiting for their first meeting, he was struggling with a crossword puzzle. Upon Beth’s arrival, she immediately solved the one word Matt was having trouble with, and they easily solved the rest of the puzzle. Matt knew he had found a smart one! On that first date, we met for a delicious Italian dinner in the North End of Boston, then walked back to the Comedy Connection and caught a show — the rest was history…”
Fierce and smize!
Matt and his dad (who’s a commercial photographer and did a photo booth) looked dapper!
“Matt was born in Boston, and (despite his disdain for winter) he has lived here all his life. He, like many of us, spends much of his time contemplating his place in the world. This manifests itself as a general love of learning new things. He has explored many things from music (the guitar), to martial arts, from coffee to computers. Since meeting Beth, he’s become especially interested in international travel — especially dragging her to museums and forcing her to learn!”
This first look is so darn adorable.
So. very. in. love. with. her. veil!!!
The bouquet and boutineer were gorgeous. There’s a piece of lace on the stem of Beth’s bouquet, it’s from her grandmother’s wedding dress. I love it when brides keep something that’s passed down from generations to them at all times on their wedding day, whether it’s a piece of jewelry or something pinned onto their bouquet. It’s a nice personal touch.
These were Beth and Matt’s parents’ wedding photos, they had them displayed throughout the reception area. I though it would make a great photo of them holding these.
I think the smartest thing Beth did was wearing flats instead of heels, otherwise this photo below probably wouldn’t have been possible.
“Beth was born and raised in Hawaii, and the first question people always ask when they hear this is, “why would anyone leave a place like that to come to Boston?” The answer is simple — Beth is an explorer at heart. She loves to travel, visit new places, and see new things. You can also say that she is a foodie. She loves to make her famous “red velvet” cake when the family comes up, and everywhere we travel, she finds and samples the most authentic local cuisine possible. She is one of the few Red Sox fans to be at Game 4 of the 2007 World Series to watch them clinch the title!”
Since they used origami cranes as their ceremony backdrop, their table place cards were also made out of cranes. Thanks to Beth’s mother who made over a thousand of them.
A lot of the guests were from Hawaii, hence the
And the banzai toast began. It was the loudest toast I’ve ever seen. It was pretty epic. (Love this guy’s beard!)
