This is my third wedding at Boston City Hall, I love it more and more every time I photograph there. Not only were the officiants extremely nice and accommodating, there’s nothing better than a relaxed couple who is ready to make a commitment to each other without the stress of traditional wedding planning. I absolutely adore these guys, James and Bill are an interracial gay couple from Boston. Coincidentally, James works in IT for Northeastern University (where I graduated) and they live within walking distance from campus. The one common thing we have is how much we love the city – the convenience and walkability to almost anywhere you’d like. It’s not as busy as New York, which is just right.
James and Bill had their wedding ceremony at Boston City Hall on February 14th, 2014, which is Valentine’s Day – what a great way to celebrate their love. December, January, and February are their favorite months of the year because, well, December is everybody’s favorite month because of Christmas, January is James’s birthday, and February is now their wedding anniversary.
I love love love this moment.
The thing that I always tell my couples is that if you’re going to get emotional at any time during your wedding ceremony, there’s no need to hold it back. Don’t be afraid to let your partner know how much you cherish the moment; once you have it captured in photographs, you’ll have this moment with you forever and you’ll remember exactly how it feels.
