I’ve always loved photographing weddings at the Liberty Hotel in Boston, especially when it’s a same-sex wedding. Scott and Todd are from North Carolina; they and some of their close family members flew to Boston for the wedding. Luckily it was on Wednesday (two days before Valentine’s day), before the snow storm hit Boston. The ceremony took place indoors in their suite on the 16th floors in Liberty Hotel overlooking the Boston skyline. The officiant, Brianna, was Scott’s sister in-law, who works at GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation). It was so awesome seeing so many people who are passionate about gay rights come together for Scott and Todd’s wedding celebration.
Scott and Todd had been together for 28 years. They met in their theater group in college. It was kind of a funny story because they didn’t exactly like each other in the beginning. As they hung out and got to know each other more, they started finding their spark. They knew they were the ones for each other about a month after they started dating and made it official. I think this is really sweet. When you know he’s the right one, you just know. Fast forward 28 years, their love is still fueling and strong. They made a commitment to each other to spend the rest of their lives together. I’m incredibly honored to photograph such an amazing couple.
These guys look dapper.
It absolutely melts my heart when parents are accepting and happy their sons found love.
You may think being a wedding photographer, I’ve seen enough crying; I’m a total sucker for emotional ceremonies.
Brianna doing her thing – signing their marriage license.
This cake topper is awesome!
After the ceremony, they had a dinner reception at Clink in the Liberty Hotel.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
