L’Espalier is one of my most favorite places to photograph weddings in Boston. I’ve photographed numerous same-sex weddings at L’Espalier and it was always extremely pleasant. I had the honor to photograph Max and Seth’s wedding at L’Espalier last weekend and it was such a beautiful celebration.
Max ans Seth first contacted me to do a couple’s headshot for their New York Times wedding announcement submission. It was an awesome experience getting to know them and we ended up having a handful of great headshots to choose from. The announcement was published on the New York Times on the day of their wedding and everyone loved it. They picked a really great photo :)
Max ans Seth looked very stylish on their wedding day, so of course I photographed them for as long as I could before guests arrived. It was a small wedding (perfect for L’Espalier), which I loved because Max and Seth were able to say hi to everyone. I had an incredible meeting their families.
I’m so honored that I got to be a part of their wedding day. Max and Seth, you are an amazing couple and I loved working with you guys very much.
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding celebration?
“While standing underneath the ceremonial chuppah, the rabbi read our letters that we wrote to each other. The notes were so memorable and moving. At the end of the ceremony, we broke the glass and embraced. It was a privilege to share that moment with family and friends.”
Funniest memory of the night?
“We have friends, who are antique dealers in Boston. They recited a very funny song and poem, spoofing on our relationship. The whole audience was in hysterics.”
Any advice for future grooms?
“Have fun, don’t fret and bask in the spotlight.”
Why is it important to you that your wedding vendors are gay-friendly?
“It’s important to have vendors who are not judgmental and gay-friendly so as to make the experience fun and pressure-free.”
