I love doing engagement and lifestyle sessions because I can spend as much time as I want with the couple and there is no need to rush anything, unlike a wedding where we had to adhere to a timeline. Couples photo sessions are more relaxed and allow us to be more spontaneous. I strive to make my couples feel at ease in front of my camera. One of the biggest challenges I face as a wedding and portrait photographer is that most of the people I work with have not been professionally photographed before and they’re nervous in front of the camera. While there is no magic pill to make the nerves go away, it helps a lot to just know that it will go away as the session progresses. I’m fortunate enough to work with couples who trust that I would do a good job, and that helps them relax.
Rolph contacted me a few weeks ago looking to do a couples session with his boyfriend at their home in Braintree, MA.I was excited for it. I usually do engagement sessions outdoors; when Rolph suggested doing the session in their home, I knew it would be awesome. They have a gorgeous house and a nice kitchen where they made drinks for each other. It was incredibly fun to photograph their candid interactions. I had a great time getting to know them too as they’re an amazing and kind couple. I hope I get to photograph their wedding once they get engaged =p
This is officially one of my favorite same-sex couples sessions. Doing this in their home made it extra awesome.
If you’re looking for an engagement photographer or just want to do a photo session to celebrate your love, I would be honored to be your photographer.
