I love the Arnold Arboretum; it’s one of my favorite engagement locations in Boston. When Rebecca and Chris requested to do their engagement photos at the Arnold Arboretum, I was ecstatic. Not only is it a giant park where no matter how many times I photograph my couples here, I never get the same photos, it’s also a lot less crowded than the Boston Common and Public Garden, and I never have to work around getting other people in the background. It gives you the experience of being in nature without leaving the city of Boston.
I hadn’t met Rebecca and Chris before the engagement session (or so I thought.) When they arrived, I had a feeling of familiarity with Chris but couldn’t pinpoint where I saw him before so I didn’t say anything. When I asked about their wedding party, I realized Chris was the best man at a wedding I photographed two years ago (Beth and Matt’s Lyman Estate wedding.) Holy cow! I was embarrassed I didn’t recognize Chris but I was more excited that Beth and Matt are going to be in their wedding party too. I can’t wait to catch up with them. Speaking of which, their two year anniversary is right around the corner.
Back to Rebecca and Chris! I really had a great time photographing these love birds. I think these engagement photos captured their fun and goofy sides. It took them a few practice shots to open up in front of my camera (so did every couple,) but once they did, they were fabulous.
I asked Rebecca to just look at Chris and she had this big smile on her face. So sweet!
We were feeling a little adventurous and hiked up a hill. It was peaceful up there and we felt like we could let loose. We grabbed some tree trunks and made Rebecca some antlers.
That was an awesome Arnold Arboretum engagement session. Their wedding is coming up soon and I can feel it’s going to be amazing!
